About the event
Please make plans to attend our second lecture in the Celebrate America 250 in Putnam County Speaker Series on Thursday, August 20. Philip Davis will present on “The American Revolution and Tennessee.”
Davis has served as an Instructor in US History at Tennessee Tech University since 2002. His primary research interest is 19th Century Cultural and Political History of the Southern Highlands, especially Western North Carolina and East Tennessee.
In the last fifteen years. Davis has addressed numerous Sons of American Revolution gatherings in Cookeville, Upper Cumberland Civil War Roundtable meetings and participated in panels at the Ohio Valley History Conference.
Davis earned his Bachelor's degree in history at William and Mary, his Master's at Wake Forest University and he did graduate work in history at the University of Tennessee.
